Hi I am Angela. I am a therapeutic Counsellor with a passion for helping my clients achieve understanding and solutions within their lives.
I work with clients to help uncover unconscious thoughts or feelings which can prevent emotional expression or lead to unhappiness.
Whilst undergoing counselling I will enable you to work through difficult topics, and reflect on your thinking patterns or find new ways of looking at old ideas. I will use a variety of therapeutic modalities and theory based strategies, to assist you.
I truly believe gaining an understanding of what underpins your limitations can open up a world of possibilities. You can book a session by clicking here.
I have been a fully Qualified counsellor for around five years having worked in mentoring young people in schools, before training for my therapeutic counselling diploma. I have experience in working with a range of client case work subject matter. This includes though is not limited to:
eating and food disorders,
depression including post natal,
sexual and gender identity issues,
clients affected by historic childhood sexual abuse,
physical trauma, including brain damage,
living with disorders or syndromes,
I have been privileged to work with many clients representing a vast range of ethnic origins, races religions and cultures.

The Therapy Room
Please note, access is by way of a stairway. If you have mobility concerns please call me to discuss this before making a booking, Thank you.
I work from my home and have a quiet, homely and bright therapy room on the first floor.
There is a toilet and parking. The therapy room has a two seater sofa with cushions and water for you to get comfortable. The room also has a fish tank of fish and some plants. A dog lives in this building. Even if my therapy dog is not involved in your therapy, please let me know should you have a pet allergy.
My client base is made up of adult men and women. I do not accept couples together. I am essentially a talking therapist however, I do have a couple of other therapeutic offerings.
I specialise in Animal Assisted Intervention which is the facilitation of therapeutic intervention through the introduction of animals. I have a therapy Dog in my Border Collie Fenton. He is gentle and intuitive and helps my clients gain their emotional connectedness. In the buzz of modern life we can lose the ability to unwind, relax. We don't process as we go along and so we can sometimes burn out. Maybe we can not understand why, or indeed what we can do about that.
AAI is particularly useful when working with those with stress or with Autism, Downs Syndrome Aspergers and others with differences. Those with deep emotional issues from childhood issues, which they find hard to verbalise or connect with. AAI is not suitable for every case and the welfare of the animals is taken very seriously. The five freedoms are offered and zoonoses considered.
Sand Tray Therapy
This therapeutic intervention is equally useful in unblocking routes to difficult to reach emotional damage. We work with the subconscious mind and although it may feel a little odd to begin with it is a powerful medium and can therapeutically be a very useful tool in the box.
It is, as it says on the tin, a tray of sand. You would use all manner of little toys bits bobs and pieces from my box together with maybe some personal items of your own. We work together to understand your story created in the sand tray and can unravel all manner of hidden mental defenses and focus the mind more clearly and accurately on the issue at hand.
